2010 was a busy year for MYSTERY ISLAND. Inspired by the 2009 comic book release of Lucy Hell, Devilgirl -- Bradley Mason Hamlin and Mort Todd continued to develop the Mystery Island franchise of metaphysical crime-fighters and completed the sampler portfolio, THE ADVENTURES OF THE SECRET SOCIETY No. 1, containing the complete secret origins of "Eddie Crossbones the Living Skeleton," "Lucy Hell Devilgirl," and "El Secreto & Bloody Maria," as well as the first five pages of the Monster Zipper super novel in comic book form.

Brad and Mort are currently working on an Eddie Crossbones comic series for 2011.

THE SECRET SOCIETY is in a multi-media development loop and many great projects are on the way.

2010 also saw the online release of SECRET SOCIETY: AGENTS OF KARMA, an interactive series where readers voted for the new AGENT OF KARMA!

The polls are still technically open as Brad works on the epic epilog, and "Flower Power," is clearly in the lead, so get your last minute votes in while you can ...

AGENTS OF KARMA 2, developed at the Secret Society Conference held at the Story winery in Shenandoah, California, is on the schedule for 2011 as well as many other exciting and mysterious surprises.

At Mystery Island Music, we had a very strong previous year with the Eric Burdon of the Animals interview and our interview with Howard Kaylan of the Turtles. We followed up that awesome 60's theme with our 4th of July interview with Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits!

During the summer, our Mystery Island vacation this year targeted Lake Cachuma (aka Cachuma Lake), near Santa Barbara and Solvang. We successfully released the Mystery Island rescue toad, "Muddy Waters," into the lake, but other than that, the lake was a bust and not anything like the great fun of Brad's retro 70's camping vacation memories. We did, however, have a great time in Santa Barbara at the beach and Solvang is still a beautiful little Nordic town to visit.

On the way back we of course sought out Bob's Big Boy, this time discovering the Bakersfield shop, but not so happening in terms of veggie burgers or grilled cheese. Stick to the shakes & fries!

In other news, Bradley Mason Hamlin and Thomas Bradley Hamlin wrote a song called, "Potato Brains," available for punk rock publication, interested bands and/or musicians of any kind, contact Brad for an reasonable exchange on the lyric sheet -- destined to be a punk classic.

Speaking of punk rock, Metal Mike Saunders of the Angry Samoans stopped by this year, and even slept on our lawn, scaring quite a few neighbors. Thanks, Mike!

December 1 saw the release of Brad's latest book of pop culture poems, VULCAN GANG SIGN, published by RED FEZ and available to read for free online. Watch for the pic of Brad doing the Vulcan gang sign and Mike with his semi-temporary Kesha tattoo.

Lucy Hell was a cute beer maiden this year for Halloween and she further perfected the art of baking the world's greatest Christmas cookies :>, and if you've missed out on the baked goods so far this year, apologies, but details for getting on the cookie list is currently classified.

And finally, our featured pop culture cereal of the year?

Cap'n Crunch's Christmas Crunch!!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS from the tribe at MYSTERY ISLAND!
